Accessible Performances at Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Every August, the Edinburgh International Festival brings audiences together with the world’s leading artists for 3 weeks of exhilarating live music, theatre, opera and dance. The programme offers audio description, touch tours, captioning and BSL interpretation for a range of productions as well as relaxed performances. Access discounts available.

Captioned, Audio Described and BSL interpreted events available. Accessible programme formats, an Access Guide, contact information for an Access Contact and information on how to book an Access Discount, all available visual guide will also be available at

For 2021, the Fringe is operating a hyrbid of in-person and online events. There are not as many accessible events as there have been in previous years but there a few, you can use the links below to find out directly about all of the shows that have the specific access type:

Some events will also available through the Fringe’s new digital service, Fringe Player. Captioning can be switched on for every show on the Fringe Player. Some shows will also offer BSL interpretation as part of the performance, or the option to switch on audio description. Find out more by
