Way to Play: A Playful Approach for Young Autistic Children – Training Day with Neil Stuart
We are delighted to be partnering with the Ewing Foundation to host a special in person training day featuring Neil Stuart Director at Autism New Zealand and codeveloper of Way to Play — a joyful, relationship centred approach designed to support young autistic children’s communication, connection, and emotional development.
Way to Play helps build essential skills including communication, social reciprocity, shared attention, imitation, emotional regulation, planning, and problem solving, using practical strategies for home and educational settings.
The training explores the theory and practice of Way to Play and the Let’s Play parent‑mediated programme, blending narrative, video examples, and interactive activities, and is described as inspiring and practice‑changing – offering an opportunity to learn from specialists in autism while bringing together expertise in deafness, creating a holistic and responsive approach for children and families.
This promises to be a standout day of learning and inspiration, generously shared by Neil during his time in the UK – and one not to be missed.
