“Northern Ireland听鈥� AdaptNI, Northern Ireland鈥檚 only specialist provider of employment and training support for people who are Deaf, have hearing loss, or experience tinnitus, is proud to launch a听1-Year Pilot Early Intervention and Transitions Programme听for young people aged 16鈥�24.
Launching in听September 2025, the NI-wide pilot project is designed to address the gaps in tailored support for Deaf, hearing loss, and tinnitus youth as they navigate further education, training, or employment pathways.

The programme provides:

One-to-one careers guidance, mentoring, and accessible workshops

Work readiness training, including CV writing, interviews, workplace rights and self-advocacy

础听NI-wide Work Experience Week听in March 2026, supported by Deaf-aware employers and communication professionals

Deaf awareness training for employers听ahead of placements to ensure inclusive environments

Ongoing follow-up support听to help young people progress into education, apprenticeships or employment
鈥淢any young people who are Deaf, have hearing loss or live with tinnitus face real barriers in making the leap from school to the workplace,鈥� said听Laura Murphy-Sloan, Co-Founder of AdaptNI. 鈥淭his programme is about breaking down those barriers early and ensuring that young people have the confidence, tools, and support they need to succeed.鈥�
The programme will also raise awareness across sectors about the importance of accessible work experience and career pathways. AdaptNI is currently seeking to engage with teachers, parents, professionals, and employers who would like to get involved.
