Participation opportunity for d/Deaf students on an undergraduate course!

“I am a deaf student researcher conducting a study on the experiences of d/Deaf students completing an undergraduate course for my Master’s by Research thesis.  

Study Aims 

  • To explore socio-cultural context within institutional settings from a d/Deaf student perspective
  • To understand the social and academic experiences of d/Deaf students at university
  • To understand current university practices and what improvements can be made

Inclusion criteria 

  • 18+ years
  • Undergraduate student in the UK
  • Hearing loss (mild, moderate, severe or profound)

What does participation involve?

  • Take photos over the course of a week that reflect your university experience as a d/Deaf student
  • Select four photos and send them to the researcher via email as these will form the basis of the interview
  • Attend an online interview on Microsoft Teams lasting 60-90 minutes
